Epilating Q and A

Q: Does shaving (or epilating) make the hair grow back thicker and darker?

Welcome to my frequency asked questions page which I have compiled from some of the questions, which have been directed to me to answer:

Q: Does shaving (or epilating) make the hair grow back thicker and darker?
A: No, it doesn’t. It does depend on the angle of which the hair is actually cut that appears to grow back more thicker, darker and coarse but this is definitely NOT the case.

Q: Why does epilating hurt so much?
A: If you have never used an epilator, then yes, it will hurt. If the pain you are experiencing is not bearable and of course, depending on the area, wax first. Try waxing for 6 or 7 months, then try epilating again. This will make a noticeable difference.

Q: Buying an epilator with attachments is more expensive than waxing?
A: With some of the epilators that I have mentioned, yes that is the case although not ALL epilators are expensive. Some can cost the same amount as if going once or twice to a professional salon.

Q: What are some of the epilators that are under AU$100.00?
A: Philips HP6401, Emjoi Tweeze eRase e60, Braun Silk-épil 3 3-170, Panasonic ES-ED90-P

Q: If I am having trouble using an epilator, what is an alternative?
A: Try waxing for a few months. There are waxing strips that you can use or going to a professional salon. If you are wanting more information on waxing etc, click on here

Q: How long does hair removal last if or when using an epilady for hair removal?
A: Like waxing, using an epilady for hair removal should last around 4 weeks.
